Banks County Schools recently recognized a new class of REACH Scholars during a special awards and commitment ceremony, celebrating students and their families for earning one of the district’s most prestigious scholarship honors. During the event, students were recognized alongside their loved ones, took part in a formal pledge, and enjoyed refreshments and a reception following the ceremony.

Earlier this week, district leaders recognized Banks County Middle School for an outstanding 2024–2025 school year, including multiple academic awards tied to strong GMAS performance, CCRPI growth, RESA rankings, and PBIS operational-level recognition.

Join us for our Christmas Concert featuring the BCHS Symphonic Band, the Percussion Ensemble, and the BCMS Concert Band. Concert begins at 6:00 at the BCHS Auditorium.

Mrs. Nancy Bentley, retired Special Education Director for Banks County Schools, has been honored as the 2025 Pioneer in Education.

Banks County Schools has released the 2026 meeting schedule for the Banks County Board of Education. Work sessions will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by regular board meetings at 7:00 p.m. on scheduled dates throughout the year.

The Banks County Board of Education has approved the official 2026–2027 Banks County School Calendar at its November Board of Education meeting. Families, staff, and community members can now view and download the calendar on our website.

The calendar outlines key dates for the upcoming school year, including instructional days, holidays, professional learning days, and school breaks.

At its November meeting, the Banks County Board of Education recognized students who earned top scores on i-Ready, Lennections, and Canvas assessments. Students were selected for this honor based on their outstanding performance on fall and midterm assessments.

Banks County Elementary and Middle Schools honored local veterans with student performances, accompanied by the Banks County Middle and High School bands. BCMS Teacher, SGT Toni Mullins, spoke about her journey in the Army.

Banks County was named among the Georgia Department of Education’s 2024–2025 Literacy Leader and Math Leader honorees, with Banks County High School earning Literacy Leader for High School Growth and Math Leader for High School Growth, and Banks County Middle School recognized as a Math Leader for Outstanding Achievement. These awards—based on Georgia Milestones reading (Lexile-based status) and math proficiency—reflect a system-wide effort, and our district vision that “Expectations Influence Success.”
