Substitute Information 
  1. Attend the Substitute Teacher Training class at Pioneer RESA. Classes are offered throughout the year.  Please visit their website at www.pioneerresa.org or call 706-865-2141 to register.  You will receive a certificate upon completion of the class.  (Any applicant who possesses a valid or expired professional teaching certificate will be exempt from this training upon providing evidence of certification.)
  1. Obtain a substitute application at the Banks County Board of Education (located at 1989 Historic Homer Hwy, Commerce, GA 30529).  This application is not available online.
  1. Bring your completed application and a copy of your certificate from Pioneer RESA (or professional teaching certificate) to the Banks County Board of Education at the address listed above.  We will place your completed application packet in our database.
  1. Upon approval you will be required to attend a one hour informational meeting for the Banks County School System.  You will be fingerprinted on this day as well.
