Farmer brings more than 20 years of experience in education and has worked closely with teachers, school leaders, and district teams to strengthen instruction, improve student outcomes, and develop systems that support continuous improvement.
Before joining Banks County Schools, Farmer served as the Elementary Curriculum Director for Madison County Schools. In that role, she led district initiatives involving curriculum, assessment, literacy, professional learning, and instructional improvement.
She previously served Forsyth County Schools as Professional Learning Director and District Instructional Technology Specialist, helping lead districtwide professional learning, personalized learning initiatives, and instructional innovation. Farmer also worked as a Product Analyst for Curriculum Advantage, partnering with educators across the country to support curriculum development and instructional planning.
Farmer earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a specialist degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia. She also earned a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Georgia and leadership certification from the University of West Georgia.
“I believe school improvement is never really about programs or spreadsheets,” Farmer said. “It is about helping great people do great things for students by learning from one another, spreading effective practices, and solving challenges together. I am excited to join the Leopard family and work alongside the dedicated educators and leaders of Banks County Schools.”
Farmer is passionate about supporting educators, using data to guide meaningful decisions, and creating systems that empower schools to grow and thrive.
Deputy Superintendent Michael Williams said Farmer’s extensive experience and proven leadership make her an outstanding addition to the district.
“Meghann has more than 20 years of experience in education as a teacher, assessment director, gifted coordinator, and literacy expert,” Williams said. “She comes highly recommended and will be a great asset to our students, teachers, and community. Outside of work, Farmer enjoys spending time with her family, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
