Banks County Schools is committed to protecting and caring for our students. In order to assist with the ongoing challenges that many of our students face and the legislative requirement to provide annual suicide awareness training to students in grades 6-12, we are looking to adopt the Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program.
The Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program is a nationally recognized program that focuses on helping students identify the signs of depression or suicidal thoughts in themselves and others. Yellow Ribbon encourages students to reach out to a trusted adult if they have concerns about themselves or a friend. Stakeholders are being provided with a review period that will conclude on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
If you would like to schedule a time to review the program, have questions or concerns, please contact Amber Blevins at (706)677-2277.
