Banks County Schools recently recognized a new class of REACH Scholars during a special awards and commitment ceremony, celebrating students and their families for earning one of the district’s most prestigious scholarship honors. During the event, students were recognized, took part in a formal pledge, and enjoyed refreshments and a reception following the ceremony.
The 2025 Banks County Schools REACH Scholars are:
Raelyn Bennett, Jayden Carroll, Gauge English, Steven Harris, Allyn “Lathan” Mack, and Edwin Lara-Morales.
Banks County Schools also extends sincere appreciation to the local organizations and community partners whose generosity helps make these scholarships possible: Metro Site, UpState Curb, Hoyt & Ruth Parson (Phi Delta Chapter Eastern Star OES), Commerce Country Cafe (Paul Duncan Memorial Scholarship), and HBC Roofs.
As part of the REACH commitment, scholars sign a contract outlining clear expectations to maintain eligibility. Requirements include maintaining strong grades with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, demonstrating good attendance and behavior, remaining drug- and crime-free, meeting regularly with assigned mentors and academic coaches, participating in REACH activities, engaging in college-preparation activities, graduating from high school, and enrolling in and graduating from a HOPE-eligible college or university in Georgia.
