Banks County Schools recently earned top honors at the Georgia School Public Relations Association (GSPRA) annual awards ceremony, bringing home three distinguished awards for excellence in communications and public relations.
The district received the Gold Award for Best Website, the Gold Award for Best Social Media, and the Best in Category for the video “Once a Leopard, Always a Leopard,” which also earned a perfect score from the judges. The award-winning video showcased Banks County’s youngest learners—kindergarteners—alongside the Class of 2025 seniors.
Angie Bowen, Digital Literacy Coordinator and Communications/ Public Relations Director for Banks County Schools, leads the district’s communications, digital literacy, and public relations efforts.
Bowen shared that these recognitions are the result of teamwork and collaboration across the district:
“We truly work as a team. I rely on those around me who are willing to help bring the stories of our system to life. From teachers and administrators to students and community partners, everyone plays a role in telling our story. That collaboration is what makes our system great and what allows us to continue highlighting the excellence happening every day in Banks County Schools.”
Bowen emphasized that continued progress in communication and digital learning relies on collaboration:
“Our goal is to keep improving in communications and digital literacy. Without the support of our community, we couldn’t showcase all of the great things happening in our system.”
