In today’s world our students face many different challenges. In order for our students to positively meet these challenges, Banks County School System is seeking to provide our students with a social emotional curriculum. By researching several social emotional curriculum options, the district wide committee determined “7 Mindsets” curriculum to best support our students’ needs. The 7 Mindsets program is designed to intentionally develop the following 10 Social and Emotional Learning Competencies in students: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, Decision-Making, Resilience, Growth Mindset, Empathy, Sense of Purpose and Hope.
Prior to adoption we are providing a review period that will conclude on Friday, July 31, 2019. Below are links providing sample lesson plans/videos and information explaining the philosophy and components of the 7 Mindsets curriculum. Parents and guardians have an opportunity to review the links below, contact with any questions or concerns, or schedule an appointment with the Director of Teaching and Learning, Linda Hawks, to review the curriculum at the Banks County Board of Education at 706-677-2224.
