In today’s world our students face many different challenges including the rise of sex trafficking. In order to better protect our students, Banks County School System is seeking to adopt a curriculum to provide annual age-appropriate sexual abuse/assault awareness and prevention education, which is required by state law. After reviewing multiple curriculums, the district wide committee determined Child and Teen Safety Matters curriculum to best support our students’ needs.
Prior to adoption we are providing a review period that will conclude on Friday, March 20, 2020. Parents and guardians have an opportunity to review information regarding the curriculum at the links below, contact with any questions or concerns, or schedule an appointment with the counselor at your student’s school to review the curriculum at 706-677-2224.
