He began his teaching career as an elementary school teacher at Jones Elementary in 1994.

Ramey is a native of Hall County and a graduate of Johnson High School and holds his doctorate degree in leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Superintendent Stan Davis announced Ramey as the new principal in an email to his staff. Davis stated, “Dr. Ramey comes to Banks County highly recommended and has a great deal of leadership experience and success as an administrator. The committee that interviewed for the position recognized his leadership style, knowledge of curriculum, and motivation as outstanding qualities. He will be an excellent addition to Banks County. Ramey is replacing Nancy Bentley, who was recently named principal of Banks County Elementary School.

Upcoming 7th graders Need Proof of Shots PDF Print E-mail

Dear Parents or Guardians,

Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, is a bacterial infection that can easily spread causing severe coughing fits and missed days of school.

Meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial illness that affects the brain and the spinal cord. Meningitis can cause shock, coma, and death within hours of the first symptoms.

To help protect your children and others from whooping cough and meningitis, Georgia law requires students be vaccinated against both diseases unless the child has an exemption.

Before starting the school year, all students born on or after January 1, 2002 and entering or transferring into 7th grade will need proof of a whooping cough booster shot and a meningococcal shot.
