The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) believes that a positive school climate is a significant factor in determining student achievement. School climate surveys were developed by the GaDOE to gather school climate perceptions from students, school staff members and parents. Data from the school climate surveys and other sources will be used in the calculation of School Climate Star Ratings for all Georgia public schools.
The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions related to Teaching and Learning, School Safety, Interpersonal Relationships, Institutional Environment and Parent Involvement. Your input is very important. Your responses are strictly anonymous and you will not be asked to identify yourself at any time during the survey. You may complete the survey using your personal computer or smartphone.

"In 2010, Georgia adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English language arts and mathematics and incorporated them into the existing Georgia Performance Standards (GPS). Georgia’s new state-mandated set of standards is called the College and Career Ready Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS). CCGPS provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn in language arts and mathematics as they progress through grades K-12. For the 2014-15 school year, Georgia will begin rolling out new assessments aligned to the CCGPS. The new assessments will be used to gauge how well students are mastering the standards and, ultimately, how ready students are to succeed in college and careers." (National PTA, www.pta.org)
